BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said party acting chairman Tarique Rahman would return to Bangladesh once the ongoing legal proceedings against him end.
When asked by journalists about Tarique’s return, Fakhrul said, “Tarique Rahman will return to the country after the cases against him are settled.”
Fakhrul shared this update upon arriving at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from London on Thursday.
He also conveyed Tarique's message to the nation, urging people to protect the hard-earned victory of August and emphasizing the importance of electing a government capable of resolving the country's political instability.
According to him, minimal reforms must be implemented before holding elections.
Mirza Fakhrul returned home today (Dec 12) following a 10-day visit to London.
Fakhrul, accompanied by his wife, Rahat Ara Begum, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:45 pm on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
