The three associate wings of the BNP—Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal—are set to stage a long march toward Agartala on Wednesday to protest the recent attack at the Bangladesh mission in Agartala and the desecration of Bangladesh flag.
Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal’s central president, Monayem Munna made the announcement during a press conference at the BNP's Nayapaltan central office on Monday.
He said that the march would begin at 8 am from Nayapaltan and conclude at the Akhaura border, aiming to protest against the reported attack on Bangladesh's mission in Agartala and the desecration of the national flag.
The initiative also seeks to oppose what the BNP describes as Indian attempts to incite communal tensions in Bangladesh, spread misinformation, and propagate anti-Bangladesh rhetoric.
On Sunday, the groups submitted a memorandum to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, demanding the safety of Bangladeshi missions in India and an end to misinformation and alleged provocations.
