Prosecution seeks ban on Hasina's statements broadcast

The prosecution has filed a petition with the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) seeking a ban on the dissemination of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s provocative statements through media and social platforms.

Prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman confirmed the matter on Thursday (December 5).

After the hearing at the tribunal, a briefing would be held for the media in this afternoon, he added.

Earlier on August 5, Hasina fled to India amid a mass uprising and has been there since then.

Later, Dr Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, was named Bangladesh’s interim leader following Hasina’s resignation.
