MAGURA: Upazila BNP called a dawn-to-dusk hartal for Wednesday protesting the killing of BNP activist Maruf by law enforcing agency.

Upazila BNP made the announcement of the hartal on Tuesday noon.

Besides, the family members of the victim claimed that Maruf was not involved with any political party.

Witnesses said that 18-party alliance activists were picketing in the area while police protested them and locked into clash.

Meanwhile, police opened fire to bring the situation under control, leaving the passerby critically injured.

Later, Maruf was rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
