DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday categorically said the government should come forward to hold dialogue.
“We have sent letter to the ruling party but they have responded after the hartal made announcement through a telephone drama. We will not take initiative for the talks rather the government should come forward,” he said.
The spokesperson for the party made the assertion at a press briefing at Nayapaltan party office in the second-day of the 60-hour countrywide hartal on Monday.
He added: “Our chairperson is ready to join the much-talked-about dialogue. But, she will hold it after 60-hour hartal if there is any such offer.”
Fakhrul also alleged that the incidents of violence across the country have been carried out by the agents of the ruling party.
