JAMALPUR: The local administration imposed section 144 at Narundi union at Sadar upazila of the district to avert an imminent clash between BNP and Awami League on Sunday.

The ban will be enforced from 10:00am to 10:00pm in the area.

District Additional Magistrate Aleya Khatun imposed the section 144 in the area from 10:00am as AL and BNP convened separate programmes at the same time and venue.

However, leaders of both the parties blamed each other and made responsible for the legal actions taken.

Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avoid any unwanted situation.
