For Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education in the US, finding affordable and convenient housing near universities is often a challenging task.
To simplify this process, RentYard has launched an innovative mobile app designed to make apartment hunting easier, quicker, and more cost-effective, offering tailored support for students navigating accommodation in the US.
Istiaque Mahmud, who enrolled at Midwestern State University a year ago, shared his experience of the struggles he faced while looking for an apartment.
Without a car, it became a huge challenge to find an apartment close to the university. Like Istiaque, Hasan Aqif, Faisal Yousuf Osman, Ahsanur Rashid—all faced similar struggles. Though they managed to rent an apartment with the help of the local community, the process was time-consuming and mentally exhausting.
Samia Akter shared another painful experience. She came to the US with her husband and had to stay in a hotel for the first week. Despite spending a lot of money, she could not find an apartment because she didn’t have an SSN or a credit score. After a week, she got help through a Bangladeshi contact and successfully rented an apartment. Samia said, "I was so frustrated that I considered returning to Bangladesh."
The same difficulties were faced by Md Tariquzzaman from Southern Arkansas University and Zihad Hasan Joy from Texas A&M University. After facing such challenges, they decided to create a platform where international students could easily find and rent apartments without external help. This initiative led to the birth of RentYard.
After downloading the RentYard app, users can directly view apartment listings near their university. They can apply for the apartments they like. If there are no available listings near a particular university, RentYard will assist in quickly finding a suitable apartment.
Besides helping students rent apartments, RentYard's team also hosts informational sessions about the US rules and regulations, working, and successfully completing studies.
The key player behind this initiative is Md Tariquzzaman, who holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and developed the app with his team. He serves as the CEO of RentYard. The rest of the team includes: Istiaque Mahmud, Hasan Aqif, Ahsanur Rashid, Samia Akter, and Zihad Hasan Joy, who are working in business development. Faisal Yousuf Osman, who leads the marketing team.
RentYard continually adds new features and services keeping students’ needs in mind. This is why RentYard is gaining popularity among students interested in higher education in the US. RentYard is a registered and trusted company based in Dallas, Texas.
RentYard has already exhibited its potential on several international platforms: ConnectCon, Global Entrepreneurship Week, and Small Business Expo in Texas. In 2025, RentYard has been selected as an Alpha Startup at the Web Summit in Vancouver, Canada.
Md Tariquzzaman, CEO of RentYard, shared that the team is working tirelessly to make things easier for students coming to study in the US. He encouraged students to reach out to RentYard whenever they face any issues with finding accommodation or other related matters.
RentYard is making a significant impact, offering Bangladeshi students a reliable platform for renting apartments near their universities in the US, and simplifying their transition into student life abroad.
