DHAKA: Ruling Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Monday said the outline of interim government made by Khaleda Zia “is not acceptable”.

“The discussion can be held only on the proposal made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation in an immediate reaction after the press conference of Khaleda.

Earlier in the day, opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia proposed the outline of the interim government for holding the next general elections.

She added: “The interim government will be formed by the 10 members from the advisors of the caretaker government of 1996 and 2001 as per the proposal of ruling and opposition parties.”
