Police on Saturday (Nov 9) arrested 19 Union Parishad members supposed to be Awami-affiliation from a residential hotel at Kolatoli of the district town on charge of holding "secret meeting".

Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Faizul Azim Noman confirmed the matter.

Union Parishad members were arrested from the hall-room of the hotel, he added. 

"The operation was based on information that Awami League-affiliated Union Parishad members were conducting a secret meeting. The identities of the detainees are being verified," OC said.
