Bagerhat: A boy was killed and his father injured as a bus rammed a passenger-service motorcycle they were riding on Bagerhat-Rupsha highway in Rahimababad area on Friday morning.

Police said a Dhaka-bound tourist bus smashed the rented motorcycle, carrying the father and the son, in the collision at about 9 am. Jahirul Islam, 10, died on the spot while his father Mohammad Zafar, 40, was wounded seriously.

Both the drivers of the bus and the motorcycle fled the spot after the accident.

Zafar was admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. His son’s body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
