Ireland Women's cricket team clinched a 3-0 series victory against Bangladesh in the T20 Internationals after a thrilling four-wicket win in the third and final match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today (Dec 9).
Chasing 124, Laura Delany's unbeaten 36 off 31 balls proved decisive as she struck a boundary on the penultimate delivery to seal the game.
Despite a strong start by openers Amy Hunter (28) and Gabi Lewis (21), Bangladesh's bowlers created pressure with timely wickets. However, Delany held firm to guide Ireland home.
Earlier, Sobhana Mostary’s 45 and Sharmin Akhter Supta’s 34 had propelled Bangladesh to 123-7. Orla Prendergast's 4-22 was instrumental in restricting their scoring.
Ireland had already claimed the series with wins by 12 and 47 runs in the first two matches, following Bangladesh’s ODI series sweep earlier.
