It is not the first time that a Bangladeshi fan has been bullied in India; a similar instance occurred during the 2023 World Cup when India faced Bangladesh.  India took on Bangladesh in Pune on October 19 and took a dark turn as Indian fans  harassed a passionate Bangladesh supporter, Shoaib Ali Bukhari, popularly known as 'Tiger Shoaib.'

The disgraceful act was captured on video and widely shared on social media platforms, leaving cricket fans ashamed. However, the fans rectified their mistake and later gifted a new tiger soft toy to the fan they heckled in Pune.
