Comilla: Unknown assailants stabbed a local Chhatra League leader early Thursday in Dharmosagarpar area of Sadar upazila.

Local sources told banglanews24.com.bd that a gang of 10/12 unidentified assailants attacked Ripon, former vice president of Comilla Polytechnic College Student Council, at the varanda of his house at about 12:30am.

The horde stabbed Ripon indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured.  

Ripon was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

“Ripon’s condition deteriorated due to excessive bleeding,” said a hospital source.
 
Police visited the spot.
