KISHORGANJ: An activist of Jubo Dal, front organization of BNP, was killed in a clash with Awami League at Kuliarchar upazila of the district on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Hasen Ali, 32, son of Hasem Mia, hailed from Ramdi village of the upazila.

Witnesses said BNP activists brought out a procession in Agarpur bus stand area around 05:00pm while local Awami League brought out another procession against hartal.

At one stage, the activists of both the parties locked into the clash and police opened fire teargas shell to bring the situation under control, leaving Hasen injured critically.

Later, Hasen died on the way to hospital.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Kuliarchar Subrata Saha did not receive phone.
