DHAKA: A Dhaka court acquitted Odhikar secretary Adilur Rahman in a general diary (GD) filed for providing fake information about law enforcers raid on May 5 rally of Hefaja-e-Islam.

Metropolitan Magistrate M Nuru Mia passed the order Thursday saying that no countable offense was found after investigation.

On September 4, DB Inspector Ashraful Alam filed the GD against Adilur and Elan.

On August 10, Adilur was arrested under ICT Act.

It was alleged against him that Odhikar, a human rights organization, published a report saying 61 people were killed in law enforcers’ drive on May 5 midnight.
