NARSINGDI: BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday categorically said the people came to know that the ruling Awami League’s ‘boat’ was totally wrecked and it failed to take their hopes and aspirations on board.
The BNP leader was addressing a mass rally at Balur-Math in Narsingdi in the afternoon.
Fakhrul also said, “The government will not initiate the general elections fearing defeat and they are trying to shirk opposition BNP as they triggered fascist activities by imprisoning opposition leaders and activists.”
He also alleged the ruling party for conspiring to ban Jamaat-e-Islam, a member of 18-party alliance.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, also leader of the opposition addressed the rally as chief guest.
