Khaldaker Mosharraf Hossain, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, today (Dec 10) warned that delaying the election under the guise of reforms would not be a prudent move for the interim government.
"I suspect that a faction is attempting to postpone the election in the name of reforms, but it will not be a wise decision," Mosharraf said.
"The longer the election is delayed, the more the conspiracy will grow," he added.
Speaking at a divisional workshop in Cumilla, he urged the interim government to announce a clear roadmap for the 13th parliamentary election as soon as it completes necessary reforms.
He also pointed out that the interim government will not be able to implement reforms across all sectors, emphasizing the need for a political government to ensure comprehensive reforms within state institutions.
