Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haq Nur has withdrawn his statement regarding International Crimes Tribunal's (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Advocate Tajul Islam.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday (Nov 15), Nur clarified his remark on ICT Chief Prosecutor.

He wrote, "On November 14, I made a statement about Advocate Tajul Islam, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal. Due to an unintended miscommunication in the information I shared, I am retracting my comments. After discussing the matter with the Chief Prosecutor, the issue has been clarified, and we will continue to support the tribunal's efforts to ensure justice for genocide victims."

Earlier on Thursday (November 14), a press release from the tribunal’s administrative officer, Masud Rana, mentioned that legal action would be taken against Nur if he did not retract his statement and apologize.
