Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus emphasized the importance of developing technology to enhance communication in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), underscoring the need for progress in education, technology, and the economy in the region.
He said: "The hilly areas are remote, which creates communication challenges. Therefore, it is essential to promote technology to bridge this gap."
Professor Yunus made these remarks during a virtual address at a training program titled 'Hill District Council Management' for the chairmen and members of hill district councils, held at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex in the capital.
He said that while the hill districts, rich in natural beauty and resources, have great potential, they remain underdeveloped. "This situation should not be accepted," he said.
The Chief Adviser also pointed out that the region’s crops, fruits, and traditional products could significantly boost the country’s economy if properly leveraged.
