A fatal road accident in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila has claimed lives of five friends on Thursday (July 4) night.

The deceased were identified as Jihad Hossain, 25, son of Rezaul Karim of Kalikapur village of Ishwardi, Bijoy Hossain, 25, son of Anwar Hossain, Siam Hossain, 23, son of Elias Hossain, Shishir Islam, 22, son of Masum Hossain of Bharimari village and Shaon Hossain, 24, son of Waz Uddin.

In this incident police said two others Saeed, 18, son of Japan Khandakar of the same area and Naim, 14, son of Suman Khandkar of the same area were injured.

However, the injured admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

Pakshi Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Belal Uddin Jahangir confirmed the matter to Banglanews today.

He said that a private car was rushing towards Pabna from Ishwardi with reckless speed. On the way, the private car lost its control in front of Kalikapur Pabna Sugar Mill on Dashuria-Pabna highway. In this incident three died on the spot.

Two seriously injured people were rescued and taken to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared them dead, he said.
Besides, two injured have been receiving treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, and a case has been filed in this regard, the officer added.
