BP says oil spill costs reach 2.65 billion dollars

LONDON - BP has spent 2.65 billion dollars (2.14 billion euros) on responding to the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the British company announced Monday as its costs rose further.


"The cost of the response to date amounts to approximately 2.65 billion dollars, including the cost of the spill response, containment, relief well drilling, grants to the Gulf states, claims paid, and federal costs," BP said in a statement.
