Dengue: One dies, 30 hospitalised in 24 hours

One more dengue patient died while 30 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 16), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 11 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 19 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of eight patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 733 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

Of them, 275 were in Dhaka and 458 were outside the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 429 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 177 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 352 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 92 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 104 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
