One more dengue patient died while 25 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 13), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 11 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 14 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of five patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 632 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

Of them, 237 were in Dhaka and 395 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 378 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 110 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 268 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 122 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 127 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
