One more dengue patient died while 45 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 9), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 18 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 27 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of four patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 485 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 184 were in Dhaka and 301 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 827 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 265 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 562 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 190 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 162 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
