One more dengue patient died while 75 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 4), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 27 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 48 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of three patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 290 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 98 were in Dhaka and 192 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 532 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 156 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 376 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 244 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 239 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
