One more dengue patient died while 70 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 3), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 32 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 38 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of two patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 215 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 71 were in Dhaka and 144 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 379 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 114 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 264 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 259 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 302 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
