At least four more dengue patient died while 413 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 11), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 103 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 310 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,665 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,17,645 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,101 were in Dhaka and 2,08,644 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,13,933 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,07,549 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,06,384 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 591 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,456 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
