Online registration introduced for BSMMU pathological services  

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has introduced an online registration system in its pathological department.

As a result, patients will be able to view and download their pathological test reports online.

Sharfuddin Ahmed, vice-chancellor of the BSMMU inaugurated the service as chief guest around 10 am on Monday, said a press release.

Speaking as chief guest, Sharfuddin Ahmed said, "The pathology service at BSMMU holds a prestigious reputation in the country, attributed to its top-tier pathology services. This recognition is a direct result of the unwavering dedication of the individuals working diligently within the department."

He urged the faculty members from all departments of the university to offer students substantial practical learning experiences through innovative methods, enabling them to serve the country effectively.

At the same event, the VC also revealed the new nameplate and logo for the Pathology Department, restructured pathological labs and launched the Cancer Molecular Lab.

At the beginning of the event, Prof Md Zillur Rahman, Chairman of the pathology Department, described the services and activities offered by his department.

He informed that the Pathology Department served 38,729 patients, conducted seven theses (five ongoing), and published 17 significant works in 2023.

Senior faculty members, students and officials of the BSMMu attended the event among others.
