At least 11 more dengue patients died while 956 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 17), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 206 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 750 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,539 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,99,050 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,05,084 were in Dhaka and 1,93,966 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,92,266 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 02,841 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 89,425 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,345 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 3,900 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
