24 dengue patients die, 1623 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 24 more dengue patients died while 1,623 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 15), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 349 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,274 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,520 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,96,665 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,04,576 were in Dhaka and 1,92,089 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,89,390 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 02,184 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 87,206 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,507 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,248 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
