JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Dr Anwar Hossain continued sit-in demonstration in front of his residence that started from Tuesday night against the sit-in of teachers of the varsity demanding his removal.

A section of teachers of JU have staged several types of protest programmes including Human chain, work abstention, sit-in and confinement of the VC, demanding resignation of him.

As part of the demonstration, the teachers took position in front of the residence of Vice-Chancellor Dr Anwar Hossain on Tuesday night and continued their sit-in demo till Friday noon.

Regarding the sit-in against sit-in, Dr Anwar Hossain declared that his demo will be continued till teachers’ protest is not end.

Eminent educationist Dr Anwar Hossain said, “Teachers took position in front of Vice-Chancellor’s residence. I won’t enter in the residence till they ended their sit-in.”

Besides, the registrar of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Abu Bakar Siddik and Deputy Registrar Abu Hasan remained confined for 94-hour from Monday noon.

Meanwhile, agitating pro-BNP teachers took position in front of the academic building confining the registrar and deputy registrar protesting the illegal removal of law faculty dean professor sheikh Manzurul Haque and so on.
