DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday urged the authorities concerned to get back the occupied dormitories and infrastructures of Jagannath University.      

“Once upon a time, the university had a lot of lands and infrastructures. But, over the time, the properties had occupied by the grabbers,” he said.

The education minister came up with the plea while talking to reporters at his secretariat office in the noon.  

Nahid added: “We want the occupied land and properties. Legal measures will be taken in this regard with proper documents.”  

The ruling Awami League lawmaker said he talked with the vice-chancellor of the university over the incident.  

Hahid assured that residential halls would be set up outside Dhaka, if necessary.
