SYLHET: The authorities of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) postponed the cluster admission test system for the current academic year, after much protest and criticism.  

The decision came from a meeting of academic council of the university on Wednesday.

Academic council member Dr Hossain Al Mamun confirmed the matter to banglanews.  

Earlier, noted writer, popular columnist and educator Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal resigned from SUST for postponing the admission system.  

In the resignation letter the eminent writer mentioned that he felt embarrassing as university authority postponed cluster admission test system.

Later, he rejoined again after the vice-chancellor of the university requested.
