The Textbooks Festival - distribution of free textbooks among school students for the 2024 academic year - is being celebrated across the country.

The distribution of free textbooks kicks off in all the primary schools and high schools of the country with festive moods.

Alongside the students, many guardians were also seen in different schools in the city and other parts of the country to join the textbook festival.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Zakir Hossain attended the book distribution function as the chief guest at the National Govt Primary School in the capital.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed also attended the function as the special guest with the Director General of the Directorate of Primary and Mass Education Shah Rezwan Hayat in the chair.  

A total of 30,70,83,517 copies of new textbooks is being distributed among 3,81,28,354 students this year.

Earlier on Sunday (December 31), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the book festival at her office in the capital.
