DHAKA: Dhaka University authorities announced its Tk 306.20 crore budget for fiscal year 2013-14.

DU Treasurer Professor M Kamal Uddin placed the budget at the annual Senate meeting held on Saturday afternoon at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban with Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair.

Of the total budget, 80.87 percent would be spent as salary and allowances for teachers, staff and employees, said the treasurer.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will provide Tk 259.50 crore while Tk 31 crore will come from its own sources.

There is a Tk 24.03 crore deficit in the proposed budget, the treasurer informed the senate.
