DHAKA: It's July 1, 2010. Sheikh Hasina is entering her 19th month as Bangladesh Prime Minister after assuming the office in 2009. President Barak Obama signed into law the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010. Fossils discovered at the Franceville site in Gabon are claimed to be evidence that multicellular life on Earth began at least 1.5 billion years earlier than currently reckoned.
And here a web portal called banglanews24.com is born.
Banglanews has shortly acquired a name as New-Generation Online News Portal by providing firsthand news and entertainment round-the-clock in both Bangla and English.
In five years of services, Banglanews has also attained the goodwill of quickest provider of Breaking News and News on Progress.
The organization is the online venture of the East-West Media Group, a concern of the country’s biggest industrial conglomerate Bashundhara Group.
Banglanews is led by Mr Alamgir Hossain, a veteran journalist who also founded bdnews24.com, the first ever online news media in Bangladesh back in 2004. Mr. Hossain is a career journalist with an experience of more than four decades and presently posted as the Editor-in-Chief of Banglanews24.com.
Banglanews is grateful and proud to announce that with all-out support from all including our valued readers, the portal has reached the leading position.
In the ensuing five years we've reached the level to say yes as much as possible, facing challenges and always seeing ourselves as a work in progress.
In the next five years we are determined to strengthen the relationship with our readers by telling them facts within the shortest possible time.
